Lately, its use in education is rapidly becoming increasingly widespread, though the amount of in-depth academic research on the effectiveness and implications of Google Drive/Docs is still limited in scope. Google Docs was introduced in February 2007, and after years of improvements became Google Drive in April, 2012. The suite is powered by decent technology recently developed and considerably more advanced than it was possible a few years ago, when it was known as “Google Docs”. Google Drive and Google Docs are free applications in the cloud-based Google Apps Suite highly suitable for advancing the practices of modern constructivist pedagogy/andragogy.
